Close to nature at Chem Chem on the shores of Lake Manyara

I’m getting around to sifting the first few pictures coming from a few weeks exploring Northern Tanzania; from Lake Manyara and the Ngorogoro Crater through the Serengeti and migration of the wildebeest to stay on the jungle island reserve of Rubondu Island. ( Manyara and Ngorogoro gallery )

Arriving to stay at Chem Chem safari lodge on the edge of Lake Manyara was spectacular, and as well as some first class staff ( many thanks Kelly ) the food would not be out of place in a top restaurant. So here are a few snaps from our first few days

Great stay, great views and wonderful wildlife, much of which comes pretty close to your tent. Rest assured as you sit out watching the dark skies and full Milky Way above, that the local Maasai guides and wardens are keeping a close eye …even when the gentle groans of a male lion do interrupt your conversation.
