The hills are alive …

For some fresh mountain air, walks amongst the Alpine Spring meadow flowers, a great fondue and the occasional lapse into The Sound of Music , the Bernese Oberland is a very special place.

Home to some of the highest mountains in Europe, the scenery is stunning and waling the glacier at the Jungfraujoch after a railway ride through the heart of the mountain is a spectacular feat of engineering.. No wonder there are numerous film sets around every corner, from “The Eiger Sanction” at Kleine Scheidegg through to James Bond “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” at Piz Gloria on top of the Schilthorn.

Now there is even more fun with the “First Flyer” zip-wire ride above Grindelwald where you swoosh down the hillside looking up at the North Face of the Eiger.
